Productivity gains through better control of industrial processes
Context
Our client is an American industrial group with several industrial sites, notably in France. It is a major global player in the precision casting of aluminium, titanium and zinc products.
The group supplies global groups in the aeronautics, aerospace, defense, automotive and energy sectors.
The challenge
One of the French industrial sites needs to increase production rates and improve its operational performance.
The group wants to rapidly launch new robotised production lines and new high added-value products. Production processes need to be stabilised and on-site teams need to be recruited.
The solution
A team of Spirit Advisors experts (with an average of over 15 years’ experience) put the investment plan under control and secured it through :
- Process control : implementation of management systems for various industrial processes (production, quality, maintenance, etc.).
- Participative approach : creation of multi-disciplinary working groups (engineers, operators, supervisors, etc.) and coaching in the field to identify and secure problems, particularly quality problems.
The impact
This expertise and approach have enabled the results to be quantified and a culture of continuous improvement to be established.
Coordination with the corporate teams has enabled the methods used on site and the stabilisation of processes to be aligned with Group doctrine. These new best practices can now be replicated by other plants.
